Rationalize Command

This command differs among variants of English:

  • Rationalize (US)

  • Rationalise (UK + Aus)

CAS Syntax

Rationalize( <Number> )

Creates the fraction of the given Number, and rationalizes the denominator, if it contains square roots.

  • Rationalize(3.5) yields \(\frac{7}{2}\).

  • Rationalize(1/sqrt(2)) yields \(\frac{\sqrt{2} }{2}\).
