Text Tool
Creates static and dynamic texts and formulas (also LaTeX) in the Graphics View.
Activate the tool, then specify the location of the text in one of the following ways:
-
Click or tap in the Graphics View to create a new text at the selected location.
-
Select a point to create a new text attached to the point.
The appearing panel allows to enter a text, which can be static, dynamic, or mixed.
The text entered in the input box is static and will not change if the GeoGebra construction is updated or objects are modified.
In order to create a dynamic text displaying the values of an object, select the object name from the Objects drop-down list (desktop Version) or in the tab of the Advanced menu (GeoGebra Web and apps). The object name will be displayed in the input box, enclosed in a grey box, and its value will be displayed in the Preview box. In the desktop version of GeoGebra, right clicking on an object’s box allows to choose whether displaying its Definition or Value.
Press OK to confirm and create the text in the Graphics View.
It is also possible to apply algebraic operations or specific commands to the dynamic objects, by entering the operation or text command in the gray box. The results of these operations will be dynamically updated in the text displayed in the Graphics View.
Use LaTex format to create beautifully rendered texts. Its use in GeoGebra is simple and intuitive: just check the LaTeX Formula box, and select the desired template from the drop-down list. A variety of mathematical symbols and operators is also available in a drop-down list (GeoGebra desktop) or in the LaTeX Formula tab of the Advanced menu (GeoGebra Web and apps).
